So I’m sure by now you’ve noticed Instagram Business Accounts on your IG feed. All of the sudden these IG models are legit with a contact button and ish like that. But how!?
First of all, relax. This feature is so new it’s not even available to everyone yet – no matter how many times you’ve updated the app in the last month. It’s all based on location.
To see if the feature is available in your location, click the gear in the top right hand corner of Instagram. If you see the Switch to Business Profile option then you can proceed. If not, you’ll have to wait.
Set Up Instagram Business Account
If you have the option, click on it. The first thing you’ll have to do is connect your Facebook page to your Instagram account. (Duh, Facebook owns Instagram now).
Then, you can add a phone number, email or location so that people can contact you directly from Instagram (just like Facebook… see the pattern?)
Once you’re done that, you’ll be taken to your new Instagram Business Account.
It will look something like this.
The Benefits of Instagram Business Accounts
- Analytics/Insights. Yes friends, it’s finally here. Instagram Analytics! Finally you can show your boss that those 4 hours a day you spend on Instagram are benefiting the company.. or not. Anyways, now that you’re a Business Account, you will see a bar graph icon beside the gear icon we clicked on earlier. If you click on it, you’ll get something that looks like this.
Here you can see tons of useful information like average times your followers are on Instagram on a typical day or the number of times someone has clicked on your website or contact button.
- Legitimacy. Your brand now looks legit… even if you’re an IG model aka getting paid to try shit for free.
- Promote posts. If one of your posts are doing well on Instagram, you can promote it right from Instagram instead of having to go into Facebook Ads.
- Switch back to personal. If you decide that you don’t want to be an Instagram Business Account anymore you can switch back to personal.
Instagram is on fuego right now.
Thank you Social Media Examiner for all the screenshots. You da bomb.
